The Right Way to Bet on Football
By bettingfool | October 4, 2007
It’s far and away the most popular betting sport in North America. At the college and pro levels, football is king.
However knowledgeable the American public is about football, it’s important to remember that half the money being wagered on a game will be lost. It will always be that way. To be in the winning half, your combined knowledge about football and betting on football has to be better than average.
You can always learn more about football, but by brushing up on the finer aspects of sports gambling, you’ll have a big advantage over casual bettors. Not many of them understand the concept of value – betting the mid-majors in college, for example. They might not even blink when they see “-2.5” on the board instead of “-3.”
Worse, so many new bettors have no clue about money management. They bleed money wherever they go. It’s yours for the taking.
