10 Free Betting Tips

A smarter betting market is ultimately a healthier betting market, so we humbly offer 10 very simple tips for those who are new to the game.
1. Your favorite team might not win the Super Bowl this year. Bet accordingly.
2. The pointspread’s job is to balance the action, not predict the future.
3. Your job is to be smarter than the other bettor, so you can take his money.
4. Use more and better sources of information, including advanced statistics.
5. Bet the sports you love. It makes you more efficient at studying those sports.
6. Follow your instincts. They are your natural “veto” decision after you’ve done all your cold and rational analysis.
7. Make value judgments. If a team is undervalued, bet. If a team is overrated, fade.
8. Build a nest-egg with several smaller, diversified bets, just like the real world.
9. Different sports require different betting tactics and styles. Some are more creative than others.
10. Always have fun. Otherwise, it’s just work.
