Betting on Golf: Odds to Win the 2008 U.S. Masters
By Igor Ivanov | April 10, 2008

You gotta be kidding me. Tiger Woods is even money to win the 2008 Masters this week. He’s only put on the green jacket once in the last five years (in 2005), but Woods also won three of the four PGA Tour events he showed up at this year. As long as he keeps up that winning percentage, he’s the man to bet on even at these very short odds.
Phil Mickelson, on the other hand, won the Masters in 2004 and 2006, and is a strong value at 8-1 to do it again. Lefty is second to Woods on the 2008 PGA money list after taking the Northern Trust Open; although he failed to crack the Top 10 in his last four events, Mickelson says he’s hitting the ball well.
Other possible Tiger-free picks include Vijay Singh (22-1), Padraig Harrington (28-1) and Geoff Ogilvy (33-1). Tee-off is Thursday on ESPN.
