College Basketball Betting: Selection Sunday Sure Bets
By Igor Ivanov | March 13, 2008

We’re still a few days away from being able to officially start filling out our March Madness brackets. Selection Sunday is the day the NCAA’s 10-member committee of athletic directors and conference commissioners will decide which 65 teams will make the men’s basketball Tournament.
Thirty teams get automatic March Madness invitations by winning their conference tourneys – or in the case of the Ivy League champion Cornell Big Red, by winning the regular-season title. At press time, 11 other conference champions had already punched their tickets to the big dance.
Who else is a lock to get in? The top programs in the nation: North Carolina, Memphis, Duke, Kansas, UCLA, and so on. They’ve done enough work at this point that even a monumental collapse in their conference tourneys won’t deter the committee from offering an invitation. They might not even blink an eye if Mike Krzyzewski turned out to be the real “Client-9.”
