NHL Betting – Picks and Predictions
By Igor Ivanov | February 7, 2008

Here we are in the afterglow of the Super Bowl, and the NHL suddenly looks a lot more interesting. Betting on hockey picks up from here all the way through to the Stanley Cup. If you haven’t been following the sport, just remember to watch the player, not the puck, while the following predictions come true:
Detroit Red Wings to win the Stanley Cup (2-1): Weren’t the Patriots getting 2-1 Super Bowl odds at the start of the season? Chalk happens, but the Wings are a complete team.
Ottawa Senators to win the Eastern Conference (1-1): Ottawa is primed for another Cup run with Martin Gerber resurrecting his career and Dany Heatley expected back on Thursday against Florida.
Alexander Ovechkin to win the Hart Trophy: With Sidney Crosby injured and the Caps making a playoff push, Ovechkin is the man: 45 goals in 54 games and a plus-12 on a team with plenty of minuses.
